THANK YOU OFFICER SKERSKI
On May 8, 2006 around 10 p.m., Philadelphia Police Officer Gary Skerski, badge number 7379, of the 15th district, gave his life in the line of duty.
Skerski, 46, and his partner responded to a robbery in progress at Pat's Cafe, on the 4600 block of Castor Avenue. As the 16-year veteran approached the rear door, the suspect exited and fired a shotgun blast in Skerski's neck. He died shortly before midnight, leaving behind his wife and two children. We remember this hero for the sacrifice he made to protect the people of Northeast Philadelphia.
